Good morning, today on The Meter, we will discuss the 114th Justice of the United States Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh. After a three month process and the most intense battle over a judicial nominee, President Trump scored another victory as Vice-President Mike Pence cast the 51st vote conforming Kavanaugh yesterday afternoon. 1 Democrat, Joe Manchin of WV voted Yay, while one Republican, Lisa Murkowski of AK voted No. A cruitical swing vote, Susan Collins (R) ME, gave a persuasive speech on Friday announcing that she would vote to confirm Justice Kavanaugh. Analysts say that the USSC now is a conservative leaning court with the replacement of Justice Kennedy with Justice Kavanaugh. Many proponnents of abortion now worry that the landmark decision in 1973 is at risk. The battle over Kavanaugh seems to have given Republicans a bounce in the midterms. Please join the discussion at 10:00 AM. The call in number is 347-308-8933. Your input is essential.
