Good morning, today on The Meter, we will discuss the latest in the ongoing government shutdown, now in its fifth week. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi hinted that President Trump wouldn’t be welcome to deliver the State of the Union Address in the House chamber next month citing safety concerns due to the shutdown. The Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security disputed the claim. The President responded to Pelosi’s antics by grounding the fight that was to take her and congressional democrats overseas, saying Pelosi needs to be in Washington. Was Trump justified? In the forever ongoing Russia investigation, Buzz Feed reported that Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, was ordered by Trump to lie to Congress. Robert Meuller himself said the story wasn't true. The mainstream media had a field day upon hearing the news and like other times had to retract. How much does the press hate our President? Yesterday, President Trump gave a speech offering a compromise to end the shutdown. DACA recipients would get an extension, while more funding would goto hiring new agents, judges, and technology in return for the $5.7B for the Border Wall. Good offer? This week there was the annual March for Life in Washington DC putting emphasis back on abortion and the Supreme Court decisions, Roe v. Wade in 1973. 50,000,000 abortions have occurred since the landmark case. Would you support the overturning of this case? Please join th debate at 10AM. The call-in number is 347-308-8933. Your input is essential.
