Good morning, today on The Meter we will discuss President Trump’s Border Emergency Declaration. The President signed the spending bill to avoid another Government Shutdown that included $1.375M for 55 miles, but also issued the emergency decree that will include at least $8M for border barriers. In a press conference at the Rose Garden, with Angel Families present, The President announced his decision. Democrats have proclaimed that the border emergency is manufactured. Some of the democrat presidential candidates have said they would actually tear down the wall. Is this a crisis worthy of an emergency declaration or a made-up crisis? In New York City, Amazon has pulled out of a plan to establish a Technology Headquarters that would have employed 25,000 New Yorkers. The decision came after scrutiny led by New Democrat Party superstar Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Cortez (D) NY, criticized Amazon for negotiations that would give the Corporation a 10% tax cut or $3B. The freshman congressman said NY could better use the money for teachers and schools. Now, $27B in taxes won’t be received. The New York City Mayor and the States’s Governor, both Democrats, decried Cortez. Was this Corporate welfare or a fair deal? The Russian Collusion probe may be finally ending. This week the US Senate determined that there was NO CREDIBLE EVIDENCE. Is the conclusion correct or should the investigation continue? Andrew McCabe, the former Acting FBI Director is under fire for discussing envoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office.  McCabe’s words directly contradict Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
