Good morning, today on The Meter, we will discuss the fast approaching 2020 election. The first debate between the Democratic hopefuls takes place next week. Polls show Biden leading the field but Sanders, Buttigieg, and Warren have narrowed the gap. Biden this week says he'll cure cancer if he's elected by making battling the disease his top priority. Many scorned the pledge calling it nothing but rhetoric. Good move for the former Senator and Vice-president? President Trump will announce his reelection bid, officially in Orlando on Tuesday. Protests are planned and tens of thousands of supporters are expected. After more than 2 years in office, President Trump still draws the crowds. Is this a positive sign for Donald Trump? The President stirred it up this week by saying he wouldn't necessarily call the FBI if a foreigner offered dirt on a political opponent. George Stephanopoulos gave the interview obviously pointing to Eric Trump's encounter in 2016. Trump later said he would if the offer posed any threats. Did the President encourage such activity? Oil tankers were attacked in The Gulf of Oman this week causing a standoff with Iran. President Trump has pointed to that nation as has Saudi Arabia. Iran has denied any involvement. A top advisor to former President Obama, Ben Rhodes, accused President Trump of intentionally blaming Iran to start a war. Is a conflict with Iran possible? Please join the debate at 10:00 AM.
