Good morning, today on The Meter, we will cover the acquittal of President Trump in the second impeachment trial stemming from the January 6th protest that led to the Capital Building being breached by demonstrators. 7 Republicans voted with all 50 Democrats for a final vote of 57-43, 10 votes short of the required 2/3 majority. President Trump in a statement cited his satisfaction with the outcome and that more good things are to come. Is this the signal of a 3rd Presidential run in 2024? The Lincoln Project, a group of so called "moderate republicans" that ran millions of dollars in ads against Trump is collapsing under scandal of sexual indiscretion with minors, embezzlement, and departure of top advisors. The implosion of the anti-Trump group comes at the conclusion of the Senate acquittal and may be significant in the direction of the Republican Party. Should Republicans stay Trumpian or move more toward the center? Also, New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo is facing increasing pressure from within his own party to resign or face impeachment amidst his intentional actions, coercion, and cover-up of covid-19 patients in New York nursing homes. Cuomo was rising to the top of the Democrat Party before the virus ransacked the American politcal process. Cuomo ordered the numbers of covid admissions to nursing homes in the Empire State to be altered dramatically downward resulting in thousands of deaths amongst the elderly. Is this more proof of Democrat Party use of Coronavirus as a politcal weapon? Please join the discussion at 10:00AM. The call-in number is 347-308-8933. Your input is essential!
