Good morning, today on The Meter we will cover the seemingly worsening relationship between Black and Blue. This week 2 additional incidents of police killings one being a 13 year old Black boy in Chicago. Video was released of a foot chase at 2:30 AM on Monday, March 29th where 13 year old Adam Toledo was holding a handgun while being pursued by a uniformed officer demanding he stop. The teen turned toward the officer, was shot in the chest as he was dropping his weapon, and later died. The officer's body camera caught the incident and the immediate aftermath providing first aid to the minor. The other was Daunte Wright, a 20 year old biracial man wanted on a warrant for possessing a firearm while under indictment for attempted armed robbery. Wright was stopped for expired tags, was out of his vehicle being cuffed upon confirmation of the outstanding warrant, and reentered his car attempting to flee. Brooklyn Center, MN officer Kim Potter, 26 years on the force, fired the fatal shot while mistaking her service firearm for a taser. Potter resigned from the department and has been arrested and charged with 2nd degree manslaughter. All of this while closing arguments are set to be made in the Derek Chauvin murder case in Minneapolis. What is your view on Black and Blue and what would you suggest to better this situation!
