Good morning, today on The Meter we will cover the prime time January 6th committee hearings where Democrats presented their case against President Trump for his actions on that day. Democrats claim the 45th President of The United States attempted an insurrection using his supporters to stop the vote of the electoral college at the joint session of Congress. Democrats paraded witnesses, played video, and gave emotional analysis of that day. Bennie Thompson (D) MS compared the day to slavery, Jim Crow, and lynchings. Republican Liz Cheney of WY teamed with Democrats to push their insurrection narrative. Cheney trails in her primary for the at-large US House seat on August 16th. How do you see Jan 6? Also, Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh was the target of an assassination attempt this week by a protester of the possible upcoming overturning of Roe v. Wade. Protesting outside the homes of Conservative Justices continue despite of illegality. Democrats have pledged packing the Court, abolishing the Senate filibuster, and adding DC as a State, if Roe is overturned. Will the intimidation work? Also, Joe Biden appeared on Jimmy Kimmel this week touting his claim that the USA has the strongest growing economy in the World, amidst $5/g gas, highest ever inflation, covid surges, crime waves, and border insecurity.
