Lyrical warfare, is it Hype or Needed in Hip-Hop

With the recent shots fired by Kendrick Lamar at some of his peers of the 2011 XXL class, the debate of lyricism in Hip Hop has gone into overtime in the last 48 hrs. In contrast to some of the pioneers of Hip-Hop, todays lyrically able mainstream artists have not really challenge their peers for the throne but label themselves the self proclaim King or best there is in the game. Tonight we will be discussing lyrical warfare, is it hype or needed in Hip-Hop.
