This week we will again be discussing the recent and past negative imagery of African Americans in the Media and what effects it has on the world view of African Americans as well as African American themselves.
In relation to Trayvon Martin as an example, does the media play a detrimental role towards black people even in the situation of wrongful death? With people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, leading blacks, and activists, when it come to the social aspect of black america do we need a new approach or new model? Are the leading blacks and activist that typically speak out in the media helping or hurting the situation presented? Are black people distracted by what the media displays themselves as, causing them to emulate what they see? Due to this, have we progressed or digressed? How can we grasped back the positive images we need to show our children, so they will model this in their future? What are some solutions to continue positive imagery in Black America?
