Black Americans are officially the fastest rising gun owner demographic in the United States. Between increased concerns about COVID 19, coupled with the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, Black people are taking their rights as gun owners seriously. In part 2 of the Black Gun Ownership series, we’re digging deeper into the next steps of gun ownership in our community. Where are safe places for us to go and train? Should we lean on the expertise of our black veterans and police force? How involved should Black people be with the political aspect of 2A rights? What business opportunities does this present for us such as black gun clubs, training academies, rangies, and actual manufacturing? Will the image of black men and women with firearms ever truly be viewed equally with that of our white counterparts?
