Intellectual Jihadism and the future of Black Muslim America

Islam in Black Muslim America is not under any physical attack. We live in a country where people can think what they want. But since we are believing Muslims, we have to be choosy in what we believe and we don't believe. When we are attacked ideologically, should we just accept everything handed to us or that stumbles in from jaahiliyya (pre-Islam)? Or should we take a look at what we believe through the lense of our scriptures (Quran and Sunna) and act accordingly?
