Marriage is a major part of any Muslim society or sub-society. It is one of the major institutions that helps insure the generational continuity of faith within a religious demographic. The approach and operational theory about marriage in the Black American Muslim community has become lopsided, disjointed and totally out of balance, not in keeping with our situational reality as a people in the United States. If we don't understand how we got here, then we cannot come up with solutions to move us to a better pace on the issue of marriage.
