12:13 Just then, a man in the crowd confronted him with a domestic issue saying, Teacher, tell my brother to be fair in dividing our inheritance! 12:14 Jesus was surprised by the man’s abruptness, but not distracted from the real issue behind the question, so he said, Hey man, who made me your referee? 12:15 Then he said to everyone, Be on your guard to protect yourselves from any trace of covetousness or superfluous desires! Things outside of you do not define you, so, be watchful not to reduce your life to the typical rat-race of getting more and more stuff; much rather discover how rich you already are in yourself!
