Mustapha Muhammad became a registered Muslim in the Nation of Islam in 1972 after hearing the powerful teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad through the representation and voice of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. After the departure of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad – like so many, young and expectant of what they believed would occur with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan due to his misunderstanding, but did not – He lost his way on the path and found himself in the state and federal prison system for eight years. Though attempts had been made to find the brotherhood and love that he knew as a young, strong and fired-up F.O.I, it wasn’t until the Great Million Man March in 1995, that through the tears in which The Messenger left, the Spirit in which he felt returned through similar tears of life. In 1996 Mustapha Muhammad was a seated representative and participated  in the National African American Leadership Summit in St Louis, MS, this same year he became Chairman of the Plainfield Local Organizing Committee. As an assistant to Rev. Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis, the National Chairman for the Million Man March. He also served on the National Board of the Million Family March in Washington, DC, and co-chaired the State Organizing Committee of NJ.  Since 2000 he has been foremost in the propagation of the Million Family March National Agenda.  He continues  to work in the service of Allah, The Nation of Islam, the people, and humanity under the guidance of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, who on August 12th, 1997 at Muhammad’s Mosque #80, in the presence of the Plainfield, NJ community and the national  media, changed his name as a student minister from Wallace Muhammad to Mustapha Muhammad.
