Off to the Races featuring Graham Motion and Jason Beem

Off to the Races Radio powered by The Racing Biz returned Saturday, September 3 with an action-packed one hour program.

This week's show featured visits from trainer Graham Motion and Colonial Downs track announcer Jason Beem.

Motion has a somewhat unusual distinction: he was won the last three runnings of the Grade 3 Virginia Derby — which have taken place at two different tracks, in two different states, over a span of five racing seasons. He’ll send out Royal Patronage in Tuesday’s renewal.

Pacific Northwest native Beem has called races from sea to shining sea and will call Tuesday’s big races from Colonial. He’s also a published author of a novel called Southbound.

Also on the docket are Darrell Wood, talking about all things Virginia, and legendary horseplayer Derby Bill Watson.
