With kickoff against in-state rival NC State just 48 hours away, ECU's administration decided to part ways with third-year head coach Scottie Montgomery on Thursday. After finding out his fate earlier in the morning, Montgomery--who was just 9-26 in his three years in Greenville--met with the team around noon. Defensive Coordinator David Blackwell will serve as the team's interim head coach for this week's game at NC State and stay on to guide the program into the transitional period as the early signing day is quickly approaching. The guys talk about the decision to terminate Coach Mo, the timing of the announcement and potential replacements. JMU's Mike Houston, former Tennessee coach and current Alabama analyst Butch Jones, and Oklahoma Assistant Head Coach for Offense Shane Beamer have been linked to the opening with Houston and Jones seemingly the early favorites.
