East Carolina Wrestling: A Forgotten Dynasty

From 1967 to 1977, East Carolina Hall of Famer John Welborn led the Pirate wrestling program to a 94-14-3 mark--including five straight Southern Conference titles from 1972-77! Unfortunately, coach was unable to join us as planned due to sickness (not COVID-19) BUT we were joined by one of his former wrestlers Mike Radford and East Carolina supporter Mike Bunting. Several other wrestlers chimed in via social media! We look forward to having Coach Welborn on soon!
