The center for disease control released a new report on April 28th of 2018 stating that the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) rates in the U.S has risen to 1 in 59 8-year-olds.  What is causing this rise and how does it affect people of African descent?  Prodigies, savants, and geniuses have lots in common with those on the autism spectrum and this is one of the reasons why Africans have traditionally held those affected by various maladies in high regard.  Come celebrate Autism awareness month with us as we dissect what may be causing the rise in diagnosis as well as discover the hidden powers that lie within this amazing group of people.
