The Voice of Change welcomes Karen Melton, speaking on the topic: The Traumatic Hidden Effects of the Cesarean Section Epidemic on Baby's and Family Bonding. This program will be LIVE on Monday, 6:00 PM PST. With cesarean section rates of 30-50% across the USA, major abdominal surgery has become a scary and all too frequent mode of 'birthing'. The US is the the only country that has trained surgeons attending birthing women. Medical personnel seem to be oblivious to the emotional, psychological, somatic and spiritual effects of cesarean section. I will speak to these 'hidden' trauma's from the baby's viewpoint, and about the serious effects of cesarean section on family bonding.
