For the last 16 years, Living Bridges Foundation has adopted and supported projects in Peru and Ecuador initiated by indigenous communities or individuals to help build and maintain sustainable lifestyles within their environmental and economic reality. The current project of Living Bridges, initiated by a native Ecuadorian, Juan Patricio,  from the village of Agua Santa, Ecuador is to support their longterm project of  reforesting an entire deforested mountain area involving 23 highland communities.  In addition, Donna will share about  the importance of reforestation worldwide.  She will also talk about her awakening to the plight of the rainforests of the So Americas when in 1989 she visited the Yucatan and witnessed the burning of the last forests.  This experience led to her personal action on behalf of the forests and an experiences and synchoncities which guided her to work in the Ecuadorian Amazon, the Manu Forests of Peru, the high Andes Communities of Q’eros, Peru, and now back to Ecuador.
