WRSP presents the first weekly episode of the Weekend Sports Huddle with co-hosts Tom Pollin and Dave Holcomb. For this inaugural episode, Tom & Dave begin with the dramatic NBA Finals. After fouling out of Game 6 on Thursday, Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry threw his mouth piece in disgust. Then afterwards, Warriors coach Steve Kerr criticized the officiating for what he called tick-tac calls on Curry. As a result, the league fined both Kerr and Curry, but the controversy didn't end there. During the game, Curry's wife, Ayesha, tweeted the league rigged the game so they could make more money on Game 7. Our co-hosts will share their thoughts on all this and predict who will win Game 7.
The rest of this first episode will be spent covering Pittsburgh and Chicago sports. First, to the ice and the Penguins' fourth Stanley Cup Championship in the last 25 years. Pittsburgh will have most of its team back next season, but the Penguins still face an uphill battle to become back-to-back champions. In Chicago, they already know how hard it is to win back-to-back Stanley Cups. Still in salary cap hell, the Blackhawks trade Teuvo Teravainen in order to dump Bryan Bickell's contract.
On the diamond, the Pirates and Cubs face off for the third time this season, but the weekend series already has a feel that's all too familiar to both sides.
