WRSP presents the 40th weekly episode of Weekend Sports Huddle with co-hosts Tom Pollin and Dave Holcomb.
The NCAA Tournament is under way and the Northwestern Wildcats from Evanston, the first suburb north of Chicago along the lakefront, have crashed the party for the first time in school history. Thursday afternoon, the No. 8 seed in the West Region squeezed past Vanderbilt 68-66 and will put their lifetime undefeated tournament record on the line against top-seeded Gonzaga later this evening.
In the NHL, there are three weeks left in the regular season and the Pittsburgh Penguins are beginning to wonder if they'll survive long enough to make it to the finish line. Our hosts will give a rundown of the latest injury news out of Pittsburgh and who is likely to be back by the start of the playoffs. We'll also take some time to recap the latest news from the surging Chicago Black Hawks.
Holcomb and Pollin will finish the hour with an update on the latest NFL free agency news and what help may still be available for the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers.
