After going through some of her articles and her online book, the Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, I understood that Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt had a profound understanding of the mechanisms abound, that have overtaken, what was and could be, a fine education system.
If I understand Mrs. Iserbyt, the "educators", for some time, have not been in the business of creating, spiritually, morally and intellectually-balanced thinkers, but citizens who will deny these noble attributes, and as a result, be more suited for the occupational and cultural assembly-lines.
Mrs. Iserbyt is very passionate on how this Dumbing Down process direcly impacts peoples of color, as we are the "first pass", to determine the potential success of any strategy.
She also has some strong words about the Common Core curriculum.

Charlotte Iserbyt is the consummate whistleblower! Iserbyt served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), U.S. Department of Education, during the first Reagan Administration, where she first blew the whistle on a major technology initiative which would control curriculum in America's classrooms.
