In the wake of the House of Representatives vote to defund Obamacare, a member of the Senate, perhaps realizing any such efforts would be quickly thrawted by the Democratic-controlled Senate, embarked on a very controversial tactic - the filibuster.
With the threat of goverment shutdown on the horizon, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, held the Senate floor for a litlte over 21 hours of non-stop talking.
As expected, the Democrats criticied Sen. Cruz as grandstanding, with even some Republicans, such as John McCain, expressing displeasure with the filibuster.
Barrack Obama, speaking at a press conference, decried the GOP for jeopardizing the entire country, to fight a bill "they don't like".
Anyway, Senator Cruz will be on Meet the Press, this Sunday, so, it will be interesting to see what he has to say, after all of this.
In the meantime, perhaps more significant on a global scale, the U.N. is in session, with the majority attention being paid to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, as for the first time in over 30 years, an American president had a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart.
Much ado in the world, and we're going to cover the bases, including and hopefully, getting a better understanding of the Individual Mandate of the ACA or Obamacare.
