Just as God instituted baptisms, devotions, prayer, and the new birth, He also established the local church. When we truly become Christians, we are born again. That new birth places us in the body of Christ. The body of Christ is made up of men and women in heaven and on earth. We also call it the universal Church. Did you know that in order to be effective in this new life that we must also become part of a local body of believers? It is essential that we become part of a local church.
