How do we know what sets us apart or is everyone called “SPECIAL” but then what is special?  Some of us hear our parents, teachers, employers, family, and friends tell us we are special, but it is not clear if we hear them tell other students, co-workers, relatives, and peers the same thing. So how we interpret the concept of “SPECIAL” must have something to do with how we see ourselves and “value” what we have accomplished. It is important to recognize the importance of culture, economic status, and personality development when accepting or receiving compliments for some things we do, say, or act out. Join Professor Applewhite, the staff of White Apple Institute and invited guests as they explain how they understand this concept of believing we are “SPECIAL”, an emphasis is placed on special education in the U.S.A.
