The anxiety and stress from racism has affected people of all races and ethnicities, especially African-Americans! It is anticipated that our discussion will encourage teachers and counselors of adults to explore the psychological impact of racism in African-American students of all ages.  The media continues to place great attention on George Zimmerman and the murder of Trayvon Martin and the many broken hearts over the verdict. Political and media hype continues shining light on the negative statistics associated with unemployment, education, and poverty of African-American males. Although the statistics are relevant, it is necessary that we shine light on the progress of African-Americans and how many people do "get along" regardless of race. Join Host, Dr. Applewhite, Dr. Beverly Johnson, and other teachers and Veterans in a positive discussion on ways to heal the scars of racism. Special Guest Dr. Beverly Johnson, is a retired professor from Arizona State University, and expert in Cultural Adaptive Therapy and Education.
