I BEG TO DIFFER! WHAT DOES “EMANCIPATION” MEAN?
While it is widely known that President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, setting the precedent for ending American slavery, little is known about the views of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and El Hajj Malik El Shabazz (Malcolm X) as they agreed on the need to redefine the idea of “Emancipation” one-hundred years later in 1963. Strangely, even though “All” are free to live the America Dream, many seem to only experience a continual socioeconomic nightmare!
Join TALK-STRAIGHT host, Rev. Dr. Rueben Dockery as he engages the listening audience in a dialogue about the messages of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and El Hajj Malik El Shabazz (Malcolm X) as they relate to being emancipated in 2017.
