HOW USEFUL IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH TO BLACK PEOPLE?

It has been forty-eight years since the celebration of “BLACK HISTROTY MONTH” was recognized in America. While it is nationally observed the entire month of February today, it was originally observed for a week in 1926. On February 7, 1926, Carter Goodwin Woodson, initiated the first celebration of “Negro History Week” which led to Black History Month, in effort to spread and strengthen the study and scholarship on African American history, all year long. The question is “just how useful is this holiday for Negro, Black, Colored or African American people today?”
