Children's  Corner:  Skip and Scooter Series & more with author Ronald Wing

The Skip and Scooter Adventure series follows the daring escapades of a pair of 11 year-old boys named Skip Olsen and Scooter McCray. The stories take place in the fictional town of Bay Hollow.  The boys are both adventurous with Scooter bordering on reckless, while Skip, although more cerebral and cautious, is easily swayed by his more audacious buddy.   The basis for the stories comes from that of my childhood as well as two uncles that were just a year and two years older than I, as well as a childhood friend from the town where I went to school, Angola, New York, which lies just south of Buffalo alongside the shores of Lake Erie.  Bay Hollow is a composite of Angola and Salamanca, New York, where my grandparents lived and were caretakers for a cemetery, and where I spent a good deal of time with the aforementioned uncles. There are also some of the Low Country venues occurring amongst the story lines.
