Women's History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. It is celebrated during March in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, corresponding with International Women's Day on March 8, and during October in Canada, corresponding with the celebration of Persons Day on October 18.

Although many of the accomplishments and contributions of Black women have been lost from the history books, Black women have played a vital and pivotal role in the course of human civilization. From raising families to leading armies, Black women have made untold contributions to history.  Their legacy and activism continue.

The Black Reality Think Tank will highlight many of their accomplishments and reveal how contemporary Black women activist are continuing the struggle for justice and liberation.  Our conversationalist for this week is Ms. Carmen Ray, CEO of Be Well Network & Events.  Our conversation will focus on issues around Black women and their relationship to their communities, families, and the concerns that undermine the stability and quality of life.  We will review women efforts used during the years of the Black Women’s Club Movement.  What is the agenda of similar movements today?  How effective are they in “Lifting as they Climb?”

The goal and objective of the Black Reality Think Tank is to understand the past, dissect the present and support implementing a meaningful future.
