Sista, What’s on Your Reading List This Month?

This Month’s featured book for May’s Bookclub is “Life Beyond Domestic Abuse” By author Leola Williams. The statistics are harsh and heartbreaking for African American women who have experienced domestic abuse. In fact, they are 30–50 percent more likely to experience domestic violence than white women. And, worse yet, they are almost three times as likely to die as a result of domestic violence than white women. What we don’t talk about enough is the survivors of domestic abuse, and how they moved forward in the healing process.
