Join us this week on TRU SKOOL,  with your host Shango Blake, for our Pt.2 talk with Dr. Bessie W. Blake: Educator, Author, and Lecturer Dr. Blake was recently invited to be a guest of Congress; which honored the 100th anniversary of the birth of Rosa Parks, The Mother of The Civil Rights Movement by unveiling a statue of Mrs. Parks and placing it in the Statuary of the Capitol. We will be discussing the importance of Adult Education Programs, and developing the next generations of authors within our community.

Dr. Bessie W, . Blake, author and winner of USA Book News’ 2007 Best Book Award for Speak to the Mountain, is an internationally known educator.  She started her professional career in the NYC public school system teaching English at middles schools in Corona and Springfield Gardens, Queens.  Her interest in alternative modes of learning led her to serve three years as an instructor at Muhammad University of Islam in Harlem.  Inspired by her work with parents, she earned her doctorate in curriculum and teaching and enjoyed a twenty-year tenure as Academic Dean, of the School of New Resources, an adult degree program at the College of New Rochelle
