The Divas of Culture:

Michelle Materre and Aisha Karefa-Smart Interview:

Chicana filmmaker Cristina Ibarra takes a sideways look at the U.S./Mexico border to reveal new angles of our American landscape. Her production company, Undocumented Films, is developing films such Las Marthas, a documentary about Mexican American debutantes dressed in colonial gowns for George Washington’s birthday, and her indie feature, Love & Monster Trucks, about an 18-year-old Chicana artist eager to escape her 4x4 truck-obsessed familia.  The PBS series Independent Lens will broadcast Las Marthas this coming February.  She is a Rockefeller, NYFA and Creative Capital fellow.  Cristina is a founding member of the self-distribution collective SubCine.com and a member of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers

Jojopahmaria Nsoroma returns for the fourth of a six-part series on the Age of Illumination – the post-modern evolution of humanity.  In this segment, Jojopah continues to discuss the elemental Love Postures and primal Fear Postures.  She’ll provide insights on how loving and authentic relationships emerge from personal sovereignty and vulnerability, which comes from a willingness to feel deeply and experience “not knowing.”

Talibah Newman is Texas raised, NYC grown, and International bound. She is wrapping up her graduate studies at Columbia University's School of the Arts for Directing and is currently in post production on her thesis film, “Sweet Honey Chile”. She is currently working on her debut feature script and a television pilot titled, "Ivy". Her latest film, “Busted on Brigham Lane,” can be seen on HBO.
