Raashidah Bilal started reciting poetry in 1988 but no one seemed to be interested so her mother told her to rap to it, she took that advice and we're witnessing the results today. Growing up in the "hood", she witnessed savage behaviour , the selling and use of drugs and decided she wanted to make a difference. Influenced by the song "Man in the Mirror", she decided the best way to positively influence others was to "be the the example" by walking a straight path. Her music delivers a conscious message and she is currently working on spreading the message of truth throughout the Nation in an effort to reach Youth and Young Adults especially.
