Power is one great thing to have. Authority is nearly equally as awesome. Of course abusing either becomes a problem for many people. We want to focus on the good that comes from people with understanding and compassion that hold power and authority. Power is the will and the strength to wield in situations no matter the circumstance. Authority is the given strength by those under it for which the subject is willing to accept the outcomes based on a system of hierarchy which temporarily places the enforcement of the policy upon the subject with very little discussion. If we can balance our uses of these two great strengths, we can make things better simply through discernment and discretion.
