Do you have a hard time reading? Writing? and for me the most difficult one, saying what you mean to say? This is very common problem with those who have had a brain injury. I remember struggling through these obstacles as my brain was healing. I still struggle at times when things are stressful or I am tired. I am happy to welcome Rebecca Kipping, speech therapist who will join the show to talk about aphasia. Aphasia is a disorder caused by damage to the parts of the brain that control language. Aphasia makes it hard to read, write and say what you mean to say. Here is a little bit about Rebecca:
Rebecca Kipping is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist from the UK. She established the Speech Therapy Centre in 2003 and has worked within the field of adult neurology since 2002. The Speech Therapy Centre’s aim is to improve the awareness of communication and swallowing difficulties caused by stroke and brain injury and to be of help to anyone who needs it.
Do you have questions even before the show? Please find the show on Facebook, TBI Quantum Leap and message me with your questions! I will make sure to ask Rebecca when she is on! Tune in, call in and together we can make a difference!
