After overcoming a speech impediment as a child, Wayne Murrah has turned his biggest fear into his biggest form of freedom which is communication in the form of public speaking.
Wayne Murrah has had the honor of sharing the stage with such greats as John Maxwell and Curtis Sliwa the founder of the Guardian Angels. Wayne’s leadership was tested and honed while serving in the United States Army as an Airborne Ranger at Ft Bragg N.C. Building on this experience and success Wayne has become a member on the world renowned John C Maxwell Team as a Certified Coach, Trainer, and Speaker.
Wayne believes everything rises and falls on leadership. It’s how we grow organizations. Its how we impact lives and transform families. Yet, he also knows, leadership cannot be an idea we simply talk about; leadership is the action we must live out.
The most challenging thing Wayne has faced as a leader, has been trying to convince his 16-year-old daughter Sarah, that he is smarter than she thinks he is.
In October 1924, a group of men assembled by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley met in the basement of the YMCA in Santa Ana, California, U.S.A., forming a club “to afford practice and training in the art of public speaking and in presiding over meetings, and to promote sociability and good fellowship among its members.” The group took the name “Toastmasters.” We are a local chapter of Toastmasters International.
