On tonights show, we have: TBI One Love Survivor: Jaclyn Smolik from Houston Texas.

Jaclyn played sports growing up, specifically soccer where she received a couple concussions but they resolved without a problem. She went to play college soccer and in March of 2019 during her junior spring season, she got another concussion. But with history of no problems, she didn't report it to the trainers and kept training. However, 2 weeks later the symptoms were worse and did not go away!

"I had to get through the remainder of the semester and finish finals at school with the worst symptoms. Once I got home I saw a sports medicine dr. who told me to rest and do nothing. This only made me worse! I had tremors, weakness, weird sensations that led to balancing issues as well as walking, vision problems etc. I went out to get mutilple MRI's, CT's EMG's and countless amounts of blood work. I needed to try and get back to normal life, to help me take way from how bad I felt.

By February of this year (2021), I was introduced to be in a study in Galveston. I began taking injects every month for 6 months, I also started vision therapy with a neuro optometrist. I finally found a game changer!

Proud to announce I will be starting to attend PT school this coming august. My goal is to help survivors and let them know they are not alone."-Jaclyn Smolik
