Michelle Maddux, ND will help us understand the crucial interaction between the brain and the gut, tonight. She will discuss the connection between our metabolism, the foods we eat, and the central nervous system.. This is not something new, but our understanding of this connection is one thing that is driving our understanding of what we eat and the connection with our mood. Our gut contents can often cause or clear neuro-psychiatic problems.

We can improve our memory, our stress response, our balance and our decision-making by the simple step of improving our gut. Our age is something that is unchangeable, but (I'm sure you've noticed that) age affects different people differently. It becomes less of a determinate of our health, by an improvement in diet, exercise, our medications, and probiotic supplements (eg. Omni-Biotic Stress Release). .

The genes we inheret from our parents are stable, but other genes, our microbial genes can change throughout our lives. The number of human:microbial cells is considered along the lines of 1:1, although microbial genes certainly outnumber ours considerably. This means that our moods, decision-making ability, and memory are greatly influenced by what we put into our gut.

There is a physical barrier between the gut and the body to prevent infection, but sometimes this protective layer can be compromised.  Most of us have heard of "leaky gut," but Dr. Maddux is here to tell us how to prevent that and help increase our mental, our physical, and our psychological health.
