How and Why to Make the Rest of Your Life the Best of Your Life - Psalm 23:6
In this final study in our Rapture Readiness series taken from the 23rd Psalm, let's take a glimpse of what “dwelling in the House of the Lord forever will be like”:
The absence of all that is evil,
The presence of all that is good,
And all that the loving heart of God can conceive. Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Let me ask you a question: Would you agree with this statement? Satan has no happy old people. Do you think that's true? Sure he has some who are young, living high wide and handsome who think they have it made and have got it all figured out, but there is a principle at play here. Satan always gives the best first and saves the worst for last. In other words, Satan's promises always start out so sweet yet they end so bitter and hard. Why? Because he is a liar, a sneak, the ultimate counterfeiter and I'll add a false advertiser.
There are three points however, that come to mind whenever we think about "the house of the LORD" or Heaven. Now we could spend a long time talking about Heaven but these three points come straight out of scripture: 1) The CERTAINTY of Heaven:
2) The COMPANY of Heaven
3) The CONSTANCY of Heaven.
We will learn that heaven is a present place, a perfect place and a purposeful place and as abiding believers waiting for the return of our LORD we ought to live in an unshakeable F.A.I.T.H. knowing where we are headed!
