SDG 26 The Cost of Discipleship

Luke 14:25-35

Do you love Jesus?  I mean do you really LOVE Jesus? 

Here’s another way to ask that very same question…   Are you a disciple?

You know - Salvation is free, but discipleship costs.

Are you willing to pay the price?

In this message we will discover four key points of a true disciple of The LORD Jesus Christ

AND after you listen to this, I hope and pray that you decide that this is how you also want to live.  Now BEFORE we get into these four points consider this...

The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of the cheap price is forgotten. This is true about anything.  Buy anything on the cheap and the bitterness of its failure and poor quality will linger long after the low price you paid is forgotten.

But when you work hard for something, when you save up for the best quality and you purchase it.  The price you paid is soon forgotten because it is something you value and treasure.  And you say "It was worth it!"

My point here is, there is nosuch thing as "cheap discipleship".

So here are the four things that discipleship in The LORD Jesus Christ means:

1) Jesus wants His disciples to WORSHIP at any cost:  Luke 14:25-26 KJV

2) Jesus wants His disciples to WORK at any cost:Luke 14:28-29 KJV

3) Jesus wants His disciples to WAR at any costLuke 14:31-32 KJV

4) Jesus wants His disciples to WITNESSES at any cost Luke 14:34-35 KJV
 

So will YOU decide to follow Jesus?
