SDG 424 Understanding The History of the Bible part 11

1 Corinthians 4:1-2  Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Last week we looked into the mind of Dr Hort, a Greek scholar and half of the Westcott and Hort team that paved the way for all modern Bible translations.

We learned that his believes were unorthodox at best and heretical in many instances in areas ranging from his hatred for the Received Texts used to translate the KJV, to the devil, hell, purgatory, baptism, and even the atonement just to name a few.

Sadly in all cases his beliefs contradicted the Bible, hence he endorsed minority manuscripts that supported his heretical views regardless of their origin or authenticity.

And Hort's partner Westcott isn't any better!

For example Westcott did not believe that Genesis 1-3 should be taken literally he considered it a creation myth.
