Alphonso Castro was there from the birth of ska. His father was involved in bands that played at the Lodge dances and the many street dances common in the 40ies and 50ies. As a young lad, Castro knew all the leading musicians of the time, because of his father, but it did not take him long to find his place in the culture. His nimble feet drew a lot of attention and praise and became his calling card to this day.
