Music expresses the soul of its people, whatever country they are from and Jamaica was no exception. The struggle to be freed from colonialism was uppermost in the minds of the natives. It was a peaceful but unmistakable need to shed the bonds of the slave master, and so a compromise was arrived at, freedom to rule ourselves but remain in the commonwealth. 2017 now brings the need to have our own constitution, create a true independent nation.
