Lake Como Residents Speak Out: No Samaritan House

The residents of "Lake Como" a community within the city of Fort Worth, Texas told us how they felt about the "Samaritan House" project coming into their area. This week they held two community meetings and a community vote to decide the fate of this project. The vote was 365 "against" and 41 "for" the Samaritan House project moving forward. Many are saying the residents of Lake Como have overwhelmingly made it clear they don't want this facility in their neighborhood. Some say the city of Fort Worth is dumping this project into this community because no other community in the city will accept it. The facility will house ex-offenders, recovering drug addicts, those infected with HIV, those considered chronically ill as well as those who qualify as low income. We will find out if the "Samaritan House already has the greenlight from the city on this project June 8th despite the overwhelming amount of residents opposing it. The local media from CBS affiliate KTVT channel 11 & ABC affiliate WFAA Channel 8 filmed the show from Pastor Campbell's church as he addressed some of the callers questions. This host would like to conclude by saying that June 8th the Tuesday following this show the Como Community was contacted and told the Samaritan House would not be building it's facility in their community.
