Invited to be a part of the panel for today's show were the candidates running for U S House District 30: incumbent (Dem) Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, (Tea Party-Rep) Stephen Broden, and (Lib) J. B. Oswalt. Eddie Bernice Johnson's people declined the day before, without providing a specific reason. However, the Stephen Broden campaign confirmed his attendance via email from staffer (Carol) the day before and via telephone just minutes before air time. J. B. Oswalt also confirmed one day prior to the show. At airtime this host was unaware that Mr. Broden had decided to renege on his previous confirmation. Once the show went live, she then contacted his headquarters to confirm whether he would still be appearing. Once it was determined Mr. Broden had changed his plans without notice, this host felt it only fair to present her audience with the research information she would have asked Mr. Broden had he appeared. So, without the Democrat or the Tea Party candidate, the show went on. Our guest was Libertarian candidate J.B. Oswalt. We asked Mr. J. B. Oswalt, age 86, if he was up for such a demanding office. This host must admit she has total respect for Mr. J. B. Oswalt. He showed up and answered tough questions when the other candidates chose not to. The constituents of District 30 can decide for themselves who is worthy of their vote, but I hope they remember how each candidate conducted themselves today.
