The retirees of Prichard, Alabama spoke out on the fact that their pension fund has run dry. Since September 2009 the retirees have not received any payments from their pension fund. We heard of retirees filing bankruptcies, having to sell their cars, applying for food stamps, getting behind on mortgages, getting donations from strangers and bake sales just to make ends meet. The retirees asked for your help. Please write their Governor Mr. Bentley and other elected officials mentioned during this show about the problems these retirees are having with their pension fund. Attached is a recent article done by the New York Times about the crisis in Prichard. Please read this article to get a better understanding of how what happens in Prichard may set the precedent across the United States. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/23/business/23prichard.html
