Jennifer J. Mayer * has worked as a professional Editor for over 20 years. After working in Chicago for 15 years, Jennifer moved to Los Angeles. In LA, Jennifer edited a wide range of projects, including true crime and docu-reality shows, as well as indie narrative films and a few documentaries. In 2020, Jennifer made the decision to focus on editing only documentaries and doc trailers. As soon as that decision was made, incredible doc work came her way. She teamed up with Karen Everett of New Doc Editing to become one of New Doc Editing's seasoned editors. Jennifer was the sole editor for the feature doc, "Carol Doda Topless at the Condor", which played at this past year's Telluride Film Festival and opened in NY, LA and San Francisco this past March. It then went on to play at theaters around the US. It's now available on AppleTV and Amazon. Jennifer also edited "We Said No! No! : A Story of Civil Disobedience", which played on various PBS stations around the US in 2023. It also was an official selection at a number of film festivals, and it won at a few, including WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. Another doc, "The Herricanes", that Jennifer was an additional editor on, won the Audience Award at SXSW this past year.
