From the imaginary stage in the hayloft of the big barn of her parents’ Claresholm, Alberta ranch, KELITA began to sing at the age of four. The yard light that was her first “spotlight”. Her love of music and performing were Kelita’s escapes from significant traumatic experiences and abuse during her early childhood and teen years. In fact, it was those escapes that fine-tuned a dream that she would “one day be a star” – a reality that continues to expand after decades of performances.

Recognition in her career includes: Five Juno Award Nominations, CCMA’s (Canadian Country Music Association) Entertainer of the Year Nomination, and CCMA’s Vista Rising Star of the Year Award. She's appeared on the The Tommy Hunter Show and TNN's Nashville Now and shared the stage with big names like k.d. lang, Reba McEntire and Jim Carrey.

Kelita's signature country hit The Strong One is still a fan favourite and anthem for many people to this day. She gave a break to an aspiring 19-year-old singer from Timmins, Ontario named Eileen Twain who sang back up on Kelita’s hit song Too Hot To Handle. Today we know Eileen as the one and only Shania Twain.

Tune in for stories of heartbreak and hope as Kelita talks from the heart and shares her music with us. She and her husband Gord Lemon make their home outside of Vancouver, British Columbia.
